Welded Rectangle Ring

A welded rectangle ring for 40mm (1½in) straps. Nickel-plated iron, formed from 4mm wire with a welded join.

The inside measures 40 x 25mm, so a 40mm strap sits flat along the long side and there's 25mm of height for a folded strap end plus a clip or a second strap. It's the usual fitting for joining a bag strap to the bag, and it suits webbing as well as leather. The welded join means it won't pull open under load the way a plain bent loop can. Fit it with a leather tab stitched or riveted round one long side. Outside it measures about 48 x 33mm.
